ABOUT ME: I love creating. Whether it be through sewing, making jewelry, playing music, or just generally crafting; my passion lies in using my hands! Little Bee started out as a side hustle jewelry business a few years ago, but I really started dedicating my time to building this little business in the summer of 2019. I have been sewing since I was a little girl but found confidence in my abilities this past year when I started to make my own sewing patterns to create unique clothing items that are made just for my body. I spent so much of my life feeling self-conscious and uncomfortable wearing swimsuits and shortie shorts and all that fun stuff, but since I started creating clothes for myself, I truly recognize that my body is beautiful just the way that it is. I want to use my passion to make people feel just as good as I feel when I’m wearing the clothes that I make. It’s not about how much you weigh or what size you are. It’s all about feeling good. We don’t have enough time in our lives to be concerned about what we look like. You’ve got a body that’s beautiful. That’s final. Do what you want with it.
My first little business endeavor was back in high school with my greatest friend, Erin. We spent our afternoons at thrift stores, hunting down denim and other used items to upcycle. We made shorts and embellished jean jackets, but we quickly spent all of our money on other thrifted items. ha! In college, I began messing around with jewelry making a little bit more seriously and began my teensy tiny business, Little Bee Creations. My parents have called me little bee since I was a teeny one, so of course, I had no choice but to incorporate it into my little business. Since graduating from college, I’ve spent the majority of my free time sewing, and experimenting with crafts and it has been SO fulfilling.
I’m always transitioning between what crafts I devote my time to and it’s allowing myself to flow through my creations has deeply altered my outlook on life. Thank you to everyone who’s supported my little business! You’ve given me so much confidence in myself as an artist, creator, and woman, damn it! I’m so excited to continue to grow and get better at what I love to do! thank you all 🙂
